Meditation is a wonderful way to restore and enjoy inner peace. It is food for the soul and creates renewed balance and clarity. Meditation is incredible in strengthening self-awareness and acceptance. The benefits of meditation are many for it calms, soothes and provides mindfulness. My guides believe it's a form of 'medication' as meditation supports our mental clarity in helping to prevent stress, anxiety, sleep related issues and supports everyday life. For example, mindful breathing with meditation lowers the heart rate and improves the circulatory system within the body, stimulating self-healing. There have been studies, which suggest the regular practice of meditation lowers blood pressure by making the body less receptive to stress hormones. These, along with other physical and spiritual benefits are why you should consider adding meditation to your daily routine. We are told meditation is finding a quiet space to sit and stilling the mind for a period without any distractions from our surroundings. There are so many ways to meditate, it can be 10 minutes to gather our thoughts and focus on our breathing. Some choose to listen to peaceful music while they do this. Set rituals can be followed that make use of mantras or visualisation techniques to stay focused. How you choose to meditate is up to you. Experiment with different techniques, you will find one that works for you. Meditation is an easy, inexpensive tool to improve your general health and spiritual well being. It also complements other alternative or medical treatments. However, my guides say that meditation can be actions like Yoga, Tai Chi, bush walking, star gazing, bird watching. These things can give people the same benefits as it does for those who practice traditional meditation. I have practiced meditation daily for over 15 yrs. Meditation has made a huge difference in my life in spiritual development and how I deal with everyday stress and the challenges that we face in our busy lives.

Welcome to my latest Blog post. I would like to continue on from my previous post of ‘overcoming negativity,' to cover more specifically negative spiritual energies. There are many forces in life and some of those, unfortunately, are negative. These negative spiritual forces can influence many aspects of our lives. They can appear and present as cycles or old patterns, which ravage the senses and switch us into opposing the positive in our lives. It is possible to have negative spiritual energies attach to us from medical procedures in hospital, or other situations where our spiritual defences are low e.g. stress, emotional trauma, malnutrition or even moving into a ‘new’ home. We can also contribute to attracting negative spiritual energies through the excessive consumption of alcohol, illicit or prescription drugs. When we are intoxicated we move to an altered state of consciousness that can leave us open to surrounding spiritual energies. This is not to say that light social drinking or prescription painkillers for illness or injury should be avoided. Moderation and common sense go a long way. Care should always be taken when playing ‘psychic’ games, Séances, Ouija boards , etc. People who participate in these games can leave themselves open to unwanted energies, which can wreak havoc if due care is not taken. These are usually heavy, dense ‘matters’, which need plenty of light and high vibrational energy to move them on. When we think of these types of spiritual energies our minds often drift to the horror films that have portrayed being possessed by evil spirits. This scenario is in fact very, very rare. In the majority of cases they are a vibrational energy or a lost spirit who isn’t where they should be and mean to cause you no harm or perhaps it is a long lost family member who has outstayed their welcome. It is not unheard of for people to seek out healers and priests to move on unwanted energies. However, the most common and effective ways to move on unwanted spiritual energies is the burning of Sage and Sandalwood oil. The burning of smudge sticks in your home can also be beneficial as can the placement of rock salt in your home. Meditation and positive affirmations should also be used, as an example: " I balance my life in a positive and organised manner". Crystals are also great tools in enhancing positive energy. Clear quartz placed around the home amplifies positivity. Most importantly, surround yourself with positive thoughts, people and environments. These are basic tools, which enhance and expand into positive growth and awareness. Enjoy aligning your life to the positive, which creates that wonderful feel good attitude.
Your intent should always be to create and attract positive energy, not solely on removing or cleansing energies. If you would like to share your experiences or tips on this topic I would love to hear from you. Life is an enriching place with many promises of fulfilment as we explore the world we live in with enthusiasm. It is great to have a positive attitude, by having a great attitude experiences become more enjoyable.
We are challenged everyday to be responsible and to take responsibility of the beliefs we wish to run our lives by. We rely on our thoughts to create our reality, achievements and to style a way of living that is best suited to our needs. The power of positive thinking should never be overlooked. Challenges can and will seek us out at times and this is where we test ourselves. These challenges are often negative forces, which can be people, environments, spiritual and emotional energies. They can block, hold, limit, deny or lock in patterns that prevent positive accomplishments in our lives. The topic of negativity is huge and covers many areas that are too numerous to mention here. Unfortunately, negative forces can strip us of our wealth and worth if we allow them to. We are all familiar with terms such as drama queen, tall poppy syndrome, two faced and bullying. These are just some examples of everyday negativity. The spiritual and emotional forces that can be classed as negative include, but are not limited to; deep parental forces, which inhibit people from fulfilling their own dreams, controlling partners or friends, astrological alignments and spiritual/psychic blocks. One of the best ways to prevent and overcome negative forces is first and foremost have belief in yourself and a clear focus on what you wish your life to be. Spend quality time with great people who uplift you and value who you are as a person. Having a healthy diet is also important in overcoming negativity. Another way to limit the most common negative forces is being determined to attract only the positive in your life. This is where affirmations and meditation can work wonders, they are free and only require a few moments of your time but are great tools to provide you with inspiration and clarity. I will be covering more in future posts on the benefits of regular meditation. If you have a unique way of overcoming negativity that you would like to share, I would love to hear from you.
